Community Activities
Bellevue

Gifford Farms provides outdoor education experiences. Seasonally, Gifford Farms opens up their experiences to the general public, called Public Mondays. During these events you can enjoy a hayride, explore their outdoor nature classroom and meet their dozens of farm animals.

Sarpy County Museum showcases a variety of historical information and artifacts with a focus on Nebraska's settlement and expansion. Exhibits include information about local Native American tribes and the Offutt Air Force Base.

Skate City offers open public skate almost everyday they are open. Double check on their website to get the most up to date information about current open skate hours. Open Skate offers just an admission cost if you have your own skates, or an admission/skate combo if you need skates.
Council Bluffs

Bayliss Park is in downtown Council Bluffs and is famous for its fountain that features a unique water patterns and light display. The park also has a splash pad, touchable art, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

When in season, enjoy a corn maze, goats, bounce house, jump pad, bumper balls, barrel cart ride, human hamster wheel, and more.

A.V. Sorensen Community Center offers specialty classes, events, and daily All Ages Open Gym hours. High schoolers and younger enjoy free gym access, while adults pay $3 per visit, with discounted packages available. Gym passes also include weight room access for high school students and older.

At Craft Axe Throwing, learn to throw tomahawks and hatchets while trying to hit the bullseye. Lanes can be reserved for 45, 60, or 90 minutes.

Zorinsky Lake Park has a 255-acre lake, and 770 acres of public land. Zorinsky Lake is open to boating and fishing while the park has soccer fields, a football field, hiking trails, mountain bike trails, baseball diamonds, and multiple playgrounds.

The Crook House Museum is the restored home of Civil War and American Frontier Wars veteran, General George Crook. The house is furnished with antiques from the 1880s Victorian period.

Altitude Trampoline Park has a variety of attractions including battle beam, bouldering wall, dodgeball, foam pit, tumble track, and lots more. Tickets are bought for either 90 minutes or 120 minutes chunks of time. Wednesdays are half price for admission and socks. Jump socks are required and can be bought on site.

Do Space provides free access to the latest software and devices that exist. Get free access to a laser cutter/etcher, vinyl cutter, 3D printers, screenless drawing tablets and so much more. Make sure to check out their monthly events and classes.

Heron Haven Nature Center is a wetland sanctuary that has a walking trail that includes a boardwalk and photography blind. Check out their butterfly garden and dragonfly pond.

Lake Cunningham offers fishing, hiking, bicycling, disc golfing, sail boating, and kayaking. Lake Cunningham has a playground, and over six miles of paved trails and nature trails for walking and hiking.

The OPPD Arboretum offers outdoor classroom space, along with a formal garden, Nebraska native garden, and a walking trail.

Standing Bear Lake has 3.3 miles of hiking and bicycling trails, playground, fishing areas, and is open for kayaking and canoeing.
Papillion

Chalco Hills offers a nearly 7 miles of scenic walking, running, and biking trail, along with unpaved hiking paths that connect seamlessly to the main trails. This beautiful area also features multiple playgrounds, fishing spots, soccer and baseball fields, and plenty of picnic areas. Bike rentals are available, perfect for exploring the trails and enjoying everything Chalco Hills has to offer.

Halleck Park has baseball/softball fields, basketball court, horseshoe pits, pickleball court, playground, tennis court, volleyball court and walking trails.

Haunted Hallow has multiple scary attractions including a haunted house, freak show, cabin in the woods, and so much more.

Scary Acres offers three different attractions, and tickets can be bought for one, two or all three attractions. The Omaha Circus Arts also makes special appearances at Scary Acres, so be sure to check out when they will be on location.

Approach Climbing Gym has a 1,600 square foot training area along with a 6,000 square foot climbing wall area that has over 150 different route and problems to climb. Approach Climbing Gym requires climbing shoes, but they have shoes available for rental along with other gear that can be rented out for the day.

El Museo Latino has year round exhibits from local, national, and international artists with a focus on collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting Latino arts of the Americas.
